i will sit in a chair with wheels and
you will wear roller skates and push me around
in a big room with other people and mats

taste
even the peaches
taste like you in summertime
ripe with the heat of august
with their sticky sweet flesh,
succulent and trembling pale
beneath the tips of skimming fingers
that linger over their taught orange-pink skin.
sitting in their bright blue bowl
on the countertop
beside the violent reds, purples, and yellows
erupting in their vase,
they blush with reservation,
afraid they too will fall.

Songs
God, I was a fool to have believed you loved me.
What a foolish thing to have believed.
/
To lose what you fear losing most gives rise to worser fears.
Hello LJ, huh? Maybe I should go back to writing affirmations.

Throats

If eyeballs are first
in the connection of hearts
then it is hair that fills in the blanks.
It weaves in like a blanket
with summer sunlight illuminating its fine filaments
sunbleached with all possible storylines
the hefty weft of right and wrongs
the warp of fights and uncontrollable laughter
and as it grows out
well,
But it is the throat the seals the deal
when the music of words
invites you for a swim
and the vibration of deep cords
strums the opening to an epic.

Colossal
Period 3
What’s your New Year’s Resolution?
To get more pussy
Well, that’s just not appropriate.
Yo, get the fuck outta my seat
Do not speak to him like that. Find another seat.
Sorry miss
What’s your New Year’s Resolution?
Suck a dick
How about something appropriate?
Get better grades
What else?
Play ball at my best you know up my shots get tall
Nigga, you got a big chin
This chin is great at eating pussy
Stop it. That doesn’t even make sense.
Cunt
Enough. Please don’t refer to the female genitalia in such a derogatory way.
What I’d do
You’re black on a Monday
You know that’s not why.
Is this what it’s like to be sixteen again?
To get more pussy
Well, that’s just not appropriate.

Paint You
" i'd like to paint you, but there are no colours,
because there are so many in my confusion,
the tangible form of my great love."
- frida kahlo

i've lost myself today.
i've been borrowing alter ego's and someone else's words.
so i'll let frida speak for me today.
and i'll give you freja's face.
cus sometimes, other people can convey better what you feel than you yourself can...
because there are so many in my confusion,
the tangible form of my great love."

TWELVE
In the early nineties
when I was in middle school
my mom, who had marched
on Washington the three decades earlier,
succumbing to social pressure
at her new job, bought
a Desert Shield/Desert Storm
sweatshirt from a coworker
and bestowed it upon me.
I regarded it oddly
where it hung in my closet
like a white flag with ironed-on
aircraft carriers and tanks -
the first pro-war garment
I had ever touched.
In school chorus we sang
"How many roads
must a man walk down?"
and because I wanted so badly to fit in
I sang along with Rick Faugno
and his variation on the refrain
and because I didn't understand
the meaning of the odd words
in my mouth, I proudly repeated them
when my mom drove me home that day:
"The answer, my friend,
is blow-jobbing in the wind,
the answer is blow-jobbing in the wind."
