Write On

usually a bar poet

he likes to wipe the day off with it.
how to type poems, he scowls,
wishing Word had napkin formatting.

coffeeshop poet

he got it at barnes & noble,
it’s a famous kind. which makes him kind
of famous. transitively. chuckle,
headshake, black coffee, three pages of poetry
twenty of diary
four to-dos
ten nymphal sketches,
one page of phone numbers ka-ching

class poet

she comes every day excited.
she’s got one for everyone. she’s got extra.
she breaks the teacher’s heart.

  1. It's good
    writying about writing
    listeniong about lisgtening
    talking about talking
    being about being
    what else is there
    but the labels do go
day by the day to sort out
the hell of it all at the
    end of it all.

    cool family
    lucky you
